Studio Moving in 2026
With lots of students but not enough staff, I decided to move the studio back to my house, which is a few blocks from the downtown location.
If you are in a group class, I will be in touch with you about your intentions for the new year. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
I will absolutely miss the Mulberry Street location! I met so many amazing people through those doors. I will always be grateful for this season of my life.
Inclement Weather
In case of inclement weather, group classes will not be rescheduled. I am happy to offer a Zoom option!
Private lessons will be rescheduled if possible.

Student Feature: Sky Smyth
Congratulations to Sky for his amazing performance as Randy (Ralphie's brother) in The Christmas Story musical! We loved seeing him act, sing, and dance! He was truly in his element.
The show is playing through this weekend at the Aronoff, and seats are very limited!
Bravo on a job well done and all the hard work you put in, Sky! You made us all proud!
Practice Tip
No matter what instrument you're playing (or if you're singing), it is so crucial to relax. Here are some examples:
String players need to relax their whole arms and wrists and use gravity to lean onto the bow.
Pianists need to keep fingers rounded and close to the keys. Oftentimes, beginners will lift the fingers they are not using up, causing a lot of tension. It's also important to pay extra attention to the wrists and let them naturally move with the flow of the melody, keeping wrists facing the keys (no karate chops).
Singers will notice their sound significantly improves when they relax their shoulders, neck, tongue, jaw, and allowing the throat to rise (taking pressure off those vocal chords!). This helps create a more resonant voice, which actually packs a punch. It does seem counterintuitive and a lot of singers want to force the notes to sound loud.
Listening Feature
We all know the famous "Hallelujah" chorus, but did you know that piece is one part of a huge production called Messiah? It was written by George Frederic Handel and tells the story of the birth of Jesus with soloists, a choir, and an orchestra.
Given that it tells a story, this type of composition is called an "oratorio." However, there is no acting nor costumes (so don't confuse it with an opera :)
Here's a video of the entire performance if you want to see some parts of it!
Interested in seeing it live? The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra will be performing the first weekend in December! I already have my tickets!
