The holidays are coming up, which is truly the busiest time of the year for musicians!
Read below for helpful information pertaining to the studio!
Important Dates
November 26 - December 1: Fall break - NO LESSONS OR CLASSES
Friday, November 30th: Our youth choir and some voice students will be performing at the Lebanon Illumination! If you know someone that wants to jump in on this special opportunity, reach out to us!
Sunday, December 15th: Studio Recitals at 3pm, 4:30pm, and 6pm (sign up link was sent to current private students)
Pop-up Caroling: We are planning some caroling events open to the public that will coincide with some Lebanon city holiday!
December 22 - January 5: Winter Break - NO LESSONS OR CLASSES
Student Feature: Noelle
Noelle learned to sing and play chords on the piano to Kasey Musgrave's song, "Rainbow" over the summer, and performed it at our summer recital at Traditions.
She was later surprised to find a package from Kasey herself, with a signed shirt and CD!
What a touching gesture from Kasey to listen to Noelle's song and encourage her in her hard work!

Staff Feature: Lizbee Hannah
We are so excited to have Mrs. Hannah join us at the studio as a vocal and piano expert!
Mrs. Hannah has Master's in Music Education from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, and 14 years of teaching MS/HS choir in the public schools. We are truly blessed to have her expertise and skills.
Mrs. Hannah is actively involved in a local choir, Cincinnati Camerata, for which she gets to conduct a piece at the next concert on December 14th and 15th!
She is also the accompanist for Mason City Schools' choir program.
We currently have 5 students in our youth choir and we are trying to spread the word to get more to join!
This class meets on Monday nights 5:30-6:20pm and is taught by Lizbee Hannah.
This class focuses on musicianship, voice technique, and really great repertoire!
So if you know a pre-teen/teen that that is looking for a way to get better at singing, make friends, and perform around town, send them our way!
Listening Feature
Speaking of choir, our featured composer is Eric Whitacre, who mainly composes vocal music. His compositions can sometimes feature 17-part polyphony. They very other worldly, peaceful, and captivating.
Check out his song "Goodnight Moon" that is based on the children's book, or "The Seal Lullaby," "Water Night," "Sleep," "Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine."
"October" is a beautiful wind ensemble piece that many of us played in HS and college.

If you are frustrated your child doesn't practice enough, please practice with them. Children need to learn this skill and telling them to practice while modeling it is the best.
Each student has a practice sheet to fill out for the week and you can go down the list.
This week try to practice together with your child. To make it more fun, see if you can facetime a friend or family member to share a performance or just take a video and send it to someone special!
